Student media may be under-valued by some but Radio 1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs clearly believes it is worthwhile. She is leaving the BBC to becoming the managing editor of the University of Sheffield’s student media outlets: forgetoday.com, Forge Press, Forge Radio and Forge TV – collectively known as Forge Media.

Radio One DJ Mary Ann Hobbs has resigned from the BBC and accepted an offer to head student media at the University of Sheffield.

Hobbs will be in charge of the development of Forge Media which entails Forge Press, Forge Radio, Forge TV and the ForgeToday website.
