Trainee Journalist, Angus County Press - this position will involve writing news, sport and features for the Arbroath Herald and a number of other papers based in Angus, Scotland. Preferably you will have completed a journalism course and/or have NCTJ prelims, but other candidates will be considered. You need a clean driving licence. Deadline April 29. Apply here.

Editorial Assistant (blogs and communities), Huffington Post - the US media giant is coming to London and wants an “exceptional writer” who is “plugged in” to social media to join as an editorial assistant. You must have a degree or equivalent (not necessarily in journalism) and have had work experience on a local or national paper or new website. Reporter, My Local News - based in St Albans, you will be writing for eight monthly news magazines covering south Hertfordshire. You NCTJs and a full driving licence. Deadline May 3. Full details here.

Court Reporter, Kent Messenger Group - this is a specialist position to cover Canterbury Crown Court in Kent, but is open to applicants with NCTJ qualifications and “impeccable” legal knowledge and training. You should also be “multi-media savvy”. Deadline May 3. Full details here.

Journalism Trainee, Thomson Reuters - a nine-month trainee program in financial journalism open to “Early-career journalists with a few years of media industry experience OR recent graduates of journalism, economics, business or languages or students of those disciplines in their final year OR early-career financial professionals whose skills would translate well into financial journalism.” You need at least a 2:1 degree, fluency in English at at least one other language (preferably Arabic, Russian or Mandarin) and a proven interest in financial news.
