Matthew Burgess, Ben Williams, Nicholas Carding, David Parker and Katie Davies covered the day’s events in Sheffield for the University of Sheffield’s Forge Press, including a live blog, photo gallery and report on the occupation of a university building by protesters:
Protesters have occupied University lecture theatres this afternoon after public sector strikes hit the country. A group of about 100 students and protesters have gone into occupation in the Lecture Theatre 4 in the Arts Tower…
…Forge Press reporters at the occupation said the agreed aims so far include the Vice Chancellor taking a pay cut. Other aims include the University to stop working with BAE and an anti-sexism policy on campus. Protesters have also agreed to support those involved in the public sector strikes including UCU, Unite, Unison, GMB, ATL and they want to link with students across city. Full story here.
