Student Publication of the Month: February 2012

The Boar, University of WarwickOnes to Watch‘s pick of the student publications this month is the University of Warwick’s The Boar.

The Boar has really upped its game over the last few weeks, with its story on whether tuition fees deter poor students, its comment piece on neglect in the NHS and its feature on how not to break up at uni all featuring on Ones to Watch.

On top, the team have produced comprehensive coverage of their union’s sabbatical officer elections – including exploring democratic options for students and liveblogging the election results.

Other highlights include a detailed look at where SU money goes, an interesting feature (from the excellent Money section) on whether student life is incompatible with ‘green’ living, a series of articles supporting Mental Health Week, a look at why senior staff are leaving the university en masse  – and even a potential murder mystery.

A good all-round publication – with comprehensive sports coverage and a refreshingly unstereotypical Lifestyle section to boot.
