Spate of attacks on students goes unpunished

Police OfficersJack Dearlove reports for the Leeds Student on how attacks on 10 students have led to no charges:

No charges have been brought against any of the masked youths arrested for last November’s attacks.

14 people were arrested after the string of attacks that left many students fearing for their safety. However police felt there wasn’t enough evidence to bring them to court.

Speaking to other media Inspector Ian Scott, of the North West inner Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The unprecedented nature of this series of street robberies, which happened on one night in a very short space of time, understandably caused concern among students and the wider community.”
