Ones to Watch‘s student publication of the month for May goes to ForgeToday.com, of the University of Sheffield.
ForgeToday, which incorporates output from the university’s newspaper Forge Press, TV station Forge TV and radio station Forge Radio, has done a fantastic job during exam season of keeping the site constantly fresh with interesting material.
This month, ForgeToday articles featured on Ones to Watch include: a live blog of the NUS conference in Sheffield, a report on the election of a student as the city’s youngest councillor, a story on Chris Brown’s music being banned from being played in the Union, a discussion on whether the Catholic Church is misusing its powers to educate AND a feature on how to make the most of your summer.
On top of these, the team have been busy campaigning for a crackdown on illegal vodka, writing about collapsing exam halls, interviewing Reverend and the Makers and coming up with innovative ways to date on a budget.
They’ve been a keeping a stream of uni and city sports news, and arts, music, games and film reviews flowing as well – no easy job when everyone is so busy with exams.
