University of BirminghamRhian Lubin from University of Birmingham’s Rebrick reports on a sexual assault that occurred when one student was on their way back to halls:

A student was sexually attacked on Friday 18th May on Pritchatt’s Road at around midnight.

The 19 year old female student was on her way back to halls of residence, Pritchatt’s Park, after a fundraising event at the Guild of Students.

The man began asking the woman a series of questions before walking away, however as the woman continued along Pritchatt’s Road she was grabbed from behind, forced to the ground and subjected to sexual attack.

A taxi pulled up during the attack, at which point the woman used the opportunity to flee from her attacker, who did pursue her. A group of young men were walking along the other side of the road and scared her attacker away. A flatmate called the police when she returned to halls of residence.
