The NUS Awards 2012 were held in a glitzy ceremony at the University of Exeter yesterday. The University of Sheffield’s Forge Media, which incorporates the student union’s newspaper, website and radio and television stations, had led the shortlist with three nominations, and it was rewarded with the prize for Best Student Media.

But the Forge team didn’t manage to turn either of their two Student Journalist of the Year nominations into awards, with University of Bristol student and former Epigram editor Tom Flynn being crowned the winner.
