Salford man jailed for 30 years for student murder

Police officerRachel Stafford reports for Lancaster University’s Scan on the conviction of Kiaran Stapleton for the murder of Masters student Anuj Bidve:

Anuj Bidve’s killer Kiaran Stapleton has been convicted of murder and sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in jail. After a five week trial, the jury deliberated for a mere 90 minutes before returning their guilty verdict.

The judge, Mr Justice King, described the case as a “truly wicked act” stating that Stapleton was a “highly dangerous man”. He went on to say: “in my judgement, this was no impulsive act on your part. It was a piece of cold-blooded controlled aggression”…
