Rachel Stafford reports for Lancaster University’s Scan on the conviction of Kiaran Stapleton for the murder of Masters student Anuj Bidve:
Anuj Bidve’s killer Kiaran Stapleton has been convicted of murder and sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in jail. After a five week trial, the jury deliberated for a mere 90 minutes before returning their guilty verdict.
The judge, Mr Justice King, described the case as a “truly wicked act” stating that Stapleton was a “highly dangerous man”. He went on to say: “in my judgement, this was no impulsive act on your part. It was a piece of cold-blooded controlled aggression”…
