Guy Drury reports for Aberystwyth University’s Courier on new data released about graduate employment:
Figures released by the Higher Education Statistics Agency suggest that graduates are turning to part-time work, volunteering and work/further study as the percentage of graduates in full-time employment has decreased.
Amongst full-time students who graduated with their first-degree in 2011, full-time employment is down 1% whilst part-time work, volunteering and work combined with further study is up 1.6% – as unemployment rises by just .1% to 9.2%.
Nationally, 32.2% of graduates were in managerial or professional roles – but of graduates from Welsh universities, this figure dropped to just 26.4%.
