University building evacuated after fire

University of PortsmouthDan Chesterton reports for the University of Portsmouth’s The Galleon on an electrical fire at the university:

Students and staff were evacuated this morning as a small fire was reported on the fourth floor of Park Building.

The fire was caused by heavy rain getting into the electrical systems of a computer room.

Five fire engines attended the scene and the fire was extinguished within an hour.

All staff and students were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.
